Computing

The new National Curriculum defines three main aspects to the ICT and Computing Curriculum: Computer Science, Information Technology and Digital Literacy. Children will be given the opportunity to explore and learn these aspects from Early Years to Year 6. At Lozells Junior, Infant and Nursery School pupils are taught to;

 

  • Understand and apply the fundamental principles and concepts of computer science including abstraction, logic, algorithms and data representation
  • Analyse problems in computational terms, and have repeated and practical experience of writing computer programs in order to solve such programs.
  • Evaluate and apply Information Technology, including new and unfamiliar technologies, analytically to solve problems.
  • Be responsible, competent, confident and creative users of information and communication technologies.
