Pupil Leadership
At Lozells, our pupils don't just learn — they lead. Our seven pupil leadership groups give children real roles, real responsibilities, and a real voice in the life of our school. Together, they help make Lozells the very best it can be.
Our Architects of Change are the voice of every pupil. Elected representatives raise ideas, challenge decisions and work with staff to shape a school that works for everyone.
The TLC think carefully about how learning happens at Lozells. They share pupil feedback with teachers, support their classmates and champion a love of learning across every year group.
Our Mental Health Heroes look out for the wellbeing of everyone at Lozells. They promote kindness, raise awareness of positive mental health and make sure no one feels alone.
The JLT are our most senior pupil leaders. Year 6 pupils organise fundraising events, lead whole-school initiatives and serve as ambassadors for everything Lozells stands for.
Every Wednesday, our Young Leaders set up and run fun, easy-to-join playground games at break time. They develop their leadership, communication and teamwork skills while encouraging everyone to get active.
Our Lozells Librarians support children across the school while helping to promote a love of reading. They help pupils choose books, share book reviews and keep the library a tidy, organised and welcoming space for everyone.
Our Eco Committee helps everyone at Lozells take care of our planet. They promote saving energy, reducing waste and protecting the environment so Lozells can be a greener place for everyone.
Whilst these are our official leadership groups, pupil leadership at Lozells goes far beyond them. Every day, our children spot opportunities to make a difference whether that is setting up a colouring club, organising an activity for their peers or simply stepping up to support someone who needs it. We celebrate and encourage this spirit in every child, every single day.
At Lozells, we believe that every child deserves to be heard. Pupil leadership is not an add-on to school life, it is at the heart of it. When children are given real roles and real responsibilities, they begin to see themselves as capable, confident and valued members of their community.
Our leadership groups give pupils a genuine voice in the decisions that affect their lives at school. When a pupil's idea leads to real change, it sends a clear message: your voice counts here.
Pupil leadership teaches children how to work alongside others, how to communicate with respect, and how to take responsibility not just for themselves, but for the people around them. These are not just school skills. They are life skills that our children will carry with them long after they leave Lozells.
Our Lozells Legends are not leaders of the future. They are leaders right now.
